Exploration and analysis of the spelling used in WhatsApp by teaching students: main errors
Abstract
The aim of this study is to make known which are the most common misspellings or kinds of errors found in conversations held through instant messaging, as well as to observe how the communication is among the youngest. Conversations were collected from WhatsApp groups created by student in the 4th grade of kindergarten and primary education at the University of Extremadura during the 2019/2020 academic year. The results obtained indicate that punctuation marks and letter omissions are the most notable errors.
