Focus and Scope

ACTA ORIENTALIA is a journal devoted to the study of languages, history, archaeology and religions of the Orient from the earliest times down to our day.

Peer Review Process

Peer review process is blind.

ACTA ORIENTALIA asks one qualified expert to review an article submitted for publication. Usually, the expert is a senior scholar and experienced reviewer in the concerned field. The article is accepted for publication (a) if it fulfills the principles of good scholarly practice and (b) if it is evaluated as a scientific enrichment .

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication in ACTA ORIENTALIA takes place without fees either for the journal or the author.

ACTA ORIENTALIA, founded in 1922, published annually under the auspices of the Oriental Societies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, with support from the Nordic Publications Board for Periodicals in the Humanities and Social Science (NOP-HS), is a journal devoted to the study of languages, history, archaeology and religions of the Orient from the earliest times down to our day.
