Sammendrag

On 22 February 2019, hundreds of thousands of Algerian citizens poured into the streets. For the first time in 30 years Algerians engaged in large-scale political protests. They demanded that President Abdelaziz Bouteflika step down and asked for fundamental changes in the political system of the country. Over the next months, the protests became more and more
fierce.
