Abstract

The article examines how a group of Norwegian school leaders look upon religious diversity in school and society. The study finds that the school leaders have a strong awareness of highlighting diversity as a resource for the school community. At the same time, the school leaders have different views on whether religious diversity should be incorporated into an inclusive school, and if yes, how. The school leaders have limited knowledge of non-formal faith education programs in which the students participate and are unsure of the relevance that the faith education arena may have for the school. In this way, the article identifies a paradox in the sense that a resource-oriented pedagogy struggles with how religion can be recognized as an experienced dimension of diversity.
