Sammendrag

This article draws on others’ findings on the spiritual development of children and adolescents. Acknowledging that spiritual development can promote tolerance of other religions and renewed interest in one’s own religion, the article specifies the overlaps between religiousity and sprituality. This insight is then applied on Christian education in Church of Norway, identifying how such education can promote inclusive communities. A particular diaconal project in an Oslo suburb titled ‘Youth Meet Elders’ exemplifies a method termed ‘diapraxis’, by coming together and working together. Diaconia and Christian education can be mutually reinforcing, and congregations are capable of playing a greater role in their local community.
