Abstract

Museums are indeed fascinating and enchanting places, but they also represent “lost opportunities, a lack of inclusive communication and missing interactions”. This is the incentive for Ingemann’s book that declares the aim to “push the stable, hierarchic institutions into expanding the potential resources of exhibitions towards more provocative and meaningful communication”. It is thus presented as quite a debate book with an activist, or at least reformist, agenda towards the museum and exhibition world.
