Kan filosofen Michel Foucault få barnehageplass?

Barnehagen er blitt en sentral og nødvendig del av hverdagen for småbarnsfamilier, både som velferdstilbud og som pedagogisk virksomhet. Barnehagens formålsparagraf sier at barnehagen skal fremme demokrati, bygge på verdier som likeverd og respekt, barns rettigheter understrekes, og barn skal i større grad ha fått innflytelse over sin egen hverdag. Filosofi, religion og etikk er et av fagområdene rammeplanen sier det skal arbeides med, men undersøkelser viser at fagområdet oppfattes som krevende, og at det arbeides lite med dette (St.meld. 41 2009). Dette er tankevekkende. Nettopp filosofi, etikk og religion kan skape rom for undring og tenkning, og være et viktig bidrag til å realisere barnehagens formål. I en hverdag med asymmetriske forhold mellom små barn og voksne, kan refleksjon omkring maktforhold og rutiner være med på å realisere barnehagens grunnleggende verdier. Denne artikkelen er et innspill til hvordan filosofen Michel Foucaults tenkning kan bidra til arbeidet med fagområdet filosofi, etikk og religion med formål om medvirkning og demokrati i barnehagehverdagen.Downloads
