Prismet is 70 years old in 2020. There have been major changes from the first volume in 1950 to today's editions. Initially, the journal aspired to be based on christian values and ideology. This article analyzes whether the understanding of pedagogy and the Christian foundation has changed during the first fifty years (1950–2000). The founders of the journal found the ideological basis in what they called a «holistic pedagogy» or «integral pedagogy» and in a Lutheran understanding of Christianity. The analyzes show that the editors have largely retained this understanding, even though the ideology-critical has been considerably reduced and the understanding of pedagogy has become more unclear.
