In September 2013 six Norwegian advisors visited the Miami Dade school district in Florida. In this school district preventing suicide is defined as an important part in developing A safe school. This includes various programs focusing on skills training such as communication, problem solving, coping, relationships, stress management, health knowledge and resources. School also offers group sessions with different topics, such as anger, grief, sexual minorities. The school offers psychological help to pupils at risk of suicide and postvention care to students who lose a fellow student in suicide.References
